Studies in Reconciliation

-------------

It'd be best to download it for a magnified image, especially for Autumn and Winter cause I didn't post them individually!

-------------

It's done! I bypassed doing individual for the last two cause I just wanted to post it already.

Winter print: [link]

From left to right, top to bottom: Haru, Natsu, Aki, Fuyu, the 4 seasons (in Japanese)

When I was sort of coming up with this, I thought of exploring a few concepts for each season, for example,

Spring - structure (the brown grills thing) and pattern/print (which I had to adapt seamlessly from the picture)
Summer - wraps (although present in other seasons) and ropes
Autumn - Tailoring and structure
Winter - opacity (sheer), textures, patterns (the "fur" with the black stuff at the bottom is supposed to sort of resemble those tree branches with heaps of snow on it)

fun fact!: I was hesitant to call this TOTALLY japanese inspired because halfway through I ran into some Korean and Chinese hairstyles probably, and the black shoulders on some pieces were inspired by panda ears. ufu.

Well, please give honest criticism/comments, since this is a study!

Cheers,
L.

Totally knew these were based on seasons before I read your artists comment so FANTASTIC job on conveying this! I love it. The fabrics, colors and styling are playful, pretty and wearable! Winter is my overall favorite. The print and colors are something i truly enjoy (being a fan of asian culture). Followed by SUMMER (love the red), SPRING (that blue/green print is lovely) and then FALL (it might be the colors I dont care much for or possibly the "tailored" style, but the overall designs are nice. This segment may look better once sewn.)
Also did you intend to create a bridge and torii in your lines? That's what I see in each season.

This is a great learning peice for those of us who need to learn about or improve our skills in creating harmony and cohesion through-out a collection.
